Prior to this role, Akash was the Head of Marketing for Hotstar (2014-15) where he was responsible for the big bang launch and driving consumer acquisition.

He has thirteen years of consistent high performance in the marketing & sales/distribution domain with leading consumer centric MNCs in the area of managing & growing brands profitably. Akash has worked across various spectrums like Digital, Sports, General Entertainment & business integration (post acquisition) and led teams(marketing & cross-functional) with the aim of gaining market & mind share.

An alumnus of Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) Delhi, Akash started his career in sales & marketing working for top-notch organizations like Pepsi & Marico straddling different geographies in the country. His brand stint with Parachute and Nihar especially was a very satisfying one. After spending close to five years in Marico, Akash decided to move to the fast-paced world of media.

His first stint was with Star TV where he was responsible for the rebranding of Star Plus and successfully took the channel back to its winning ways courtesy the ‘’Rishta Wahi Soch Nayi’’ marketing campaign. He then spent couple of years in Dubai within STAR, working as the Head of Distribution & Special Projects, Middle East & Africa and successfully increased the channel portfolio penetration by more than 100%.

He came back to India to launch the new Star Sports network in 2013 after Star had acquired the Sports channels from ESS and won the cricket rights from BCCI. The ‘Believe’ launch campaign in conjunction with the multi-sports strategy captured the imagination of the entire nation.

A quintessential Bengali at heart, Akash actively pursues dramatics and music at his leisure. An indulgent father, he loves to unwind by playing a game of football with his kids

Nishant Radia

Co Founder – VIDOOLY

Nishant Radia co-founded Vidooly in 2014 and currently serves as its Chief Marketing Officer. Before starting Vidooly, Nishant worked for Headstrong & IndiaMART. He helped IndiaMART’s initiative business unit to achieve million dollar revenues & then took a plunge for starting up. He is an Electronics Engineer from Amity University, Noida. Apart from being an influential person in the online video ecosystem, Nishant is also a trustee at Rita Radia Foundation For Cancer Awareness & Detection, a non-profit charitable organisation and a member of Project Chirag.

Vishnu Mohta

Co-Founder – HOICHOI TV , Executive Director – SVF

Vishnu Mohta, 34 years old, joined SVF in 2007, as the head of the Digital Cinema business. After making it the largest player in West Bengal and fourth largest network in India within a year of operations, Vishnu now heads the New Media division of SVF Entertainment. He just launched its first venture, Hoichoi, the one stop destination for Bengali entertainment – showcasing Originals, Movies, with Music Streaming coming soon – under his aegis, targeting Bengalis in India and the Bengali diaspora.

Vishnu has worked with KPMG in Risk Advisory and Lloyds TSB in Corporate Strategy in their London offices, in the past. He has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Bond University Australia and MSc in International Business from Aston University Birmingham, UK.

Armed with an exceptional ability for identifying solutions to entrenched problems, helping to collaborate with a solution centric approach across all levels, he has built long lasting profitable business relationships.

Soumini Sridhara Paul is Vice President of the Talent and Independent content platform,Artist Aloud (Hungama Digital Media Ent. Pvt. Ltd.). Launched in January 2010, Soumini has spearheaded the set up of Artist Aloud, South Asia’s premier digital platform for established and new talent with independent audio and video content along with a dedicated team. She also is Head of Operations and Content Development for Kids and other channels on YouTube and Special Content Creation and Event IP projects for Hungama. One of her pet projects is the channel she is building along with a wonderful team for Hungama Kids creating content which is age appropriate, entertaining and educational. She has over 20 years experience as a Pop Artist, Artist Manager as well as assignments with Channel [V] including Bollywood, Independent and International talent and Universal Music including album launches and promotions and artist relations. As a hobby, Soumini has been dabbling into writing for the last 5 years and Disha The Challenge is her first ever-published work through Partridge. She started her artistic stint as a singer almost 20 years back but chose to work in other aspects of the industry to build something that would chance the face of Talent and Independent Content Space.

Prior to joining Republic TV, Varun was heading India business sales of the artificial intelligence technology company, Appier Inc, which covers various Asian markets. Manav Sethi

Chief Marketing Officer – ALTBALAJI

Manav Sethi leads ALTBalaji as the Chief Marketing Officer. He launched this platform in April 2017 and oversees the company’s overall communication strategy in India and internationally.

In his last role at Getit he launched multiple businesses and brands in India and Malaysia across Yellow pages, Horizontal Marketplace and verticals like grocery and furniture, mobile wallet and a merchant lending platform.
At Reliance Big Entertainment, he was the founder of then India’s largest online local search platform that got investment interests from Navteq & acquisition interest from Justdial. While at Reliance, he also worked on launching businesses across FM Radio, Music, Motion Pictures, Movie rental & download, online gaming & a JV with Dreamworks Animation SKG.

In his earlier stints, Manav exited a startup in stealth mode that created an IP that helped telecom towers reduce their energy costs.

Archana Anand

In the last 2 years at ZEE, Archana has been instrumental in firmly establishing and substantially growing the Group’s OTT platforms dittoTV and OZEE as strong players in their own domains, including leading the disruptive re-launch of dittoTV as a Rs. 20 i.e. “Bees Ka TV” proposition in 2016. Among her many contributions, Archana has also crafted key partnerships across leading telcos.

Now, spearheading the India launch of ZEE5, Archana is passionate about making ZEE5 the No.1 Entertainment Destination in India and ensuring ZEE5 is the undisputed go-to destination for language content in this country.

Archana brings to the Group over 20 years of experience driving P&L and Strategy across diverse businesses. Her experience spans across Sales, Marketing, Client Relationships, Product, Creative and User Experience. Prior to this, she was Director & Head Information and Entertainment Services at Onmobile Global, where amongst other things, she launched and drove to success products like ‘Help me on Mobile’-a safety app, that attracted much Media coverage because of the topicality in the time of Nirbhaya.

Archana has a management degree from IIM Bangalore and was awarded the ‘Inspiring Women Leaders’ Award by Synergian.

Sameer Gogate

Head of Monetization & Distribution – VIU

A seasoned media professional with over a decade and half years of experience in media and entertainment industry. In his current role at Viu, the premium global video on demand platform Sameer heads Monetization and Distribution for Viu. In his short span of a year, he has built innovative model of Distribution & Monetisation for the digital platform from bringing ‘international format to India like ‘Hollywood Squares’ to playing a key role in taking the ‘No.1 Yaari’ franchise to multiple languages.

In his earlier roles, Sameer has been an integral part of the team that launched COLORS and been instrumental in setting up the film division at Endemol. He has worked across broadcast media, movie production and acquisition, content production and syndication.

Saurabh Varma

Film Director – SAURABH VARMA PICTURES

With 20 plus years of experience in the Filmed Entertainment space; SAURABH VARMA is perhaps the only professional in Bollywood who’s worked in both the Creative side as a Film Writer-Director, as well as the Content side, as a Marketer, Distributor & Film Programmer. Saurabh has worked in senior-most positions in top Corporates including RELIANCE Entertainment as Chief Marketing Officer, in PVR as Vice President Marcom and in INOX as VP Film Distribution and Programming. He then left the commerce side of the business and wrote/directed films including MICKEY VIRUS & 7 HOURS TO GO and also marketed films including Saheb Biwi aur Gangster and the recently released biopic Poorna. He is also the chairman Events for Indian Film and Television Directors Association (IFTDA)

Saurabh Varma has been a part of marketing & releasing more than 500 films in almost all languages of the country. He has recently delved into Content Creation for the OTT space where his last short web-flick LONELY GIRL starring Riya Sen received more than 2.5 million views. Saurabh not just develops, designs and creates content but he also designs its marketing strategy, posters, thumbnails etc. He presently has more than half a dozen Web Flick Concepts ready to be launched in the digital space.

Sunil Nair

Chief Operating Officer – ALTBALAJI

Sunil Nair is currently Chief Operating Officer at ALTBalaji responsible for Business Development, Alliances, Platform, Technology, Operations and Big Data Inference Engines.
Sunil setup the India’s first online video distribution platform – Nautanki.tv. He has held leadership positions in Reliance Jio, Star TV & OneChannel Media LLC. He is active in the startup circle as an advisor and mentor.

Sunil loves traveling, writes sporadically and enjoys single origin coffee. He has written a few books, been responsible for starting two literary movements – The Pune Lit Circle and The Mumbai Writers Cafe now called Caferati and was a research assistant for a doctoral Ph.D. thesis on the ‘Theatre of the Absurd’.

He is an avid storyteller, especially to his daughter who adores his ‘bed time stories’ that revolve around the adventures of a little girl call Tarakshi and her pet crow called Kaa. These stories are being currently converted into a series of books for parents of little kids.

He is usually found baking and cooking for his family in his spare time in order to unwind.
